Really good perspective on the current debate around monuments. I definitely connect with the aim of preventing erasure of difficult history but often the full story of these monuments is overlooked. Keeping these monuments can be a different type of historical erasure that shouldn’t be overlooked when considering the legacy we want to preserve.
