“Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell […] emphasized that it preserved a round of spending cuts negotiated two years ago with Obama and Democrats.”

So wait a minute, by spending cuts does he mean the “compromise” known as the budget sequestration? Which had no compromise, only harsh cuts that everyone was supposed to hate… Why does this feel like a Republican win all of a sudden?

The bill, which reopens the government though Jan. 15 and raises the nation’s borrowing authority through Feb. 7, now heads to President Obama to be signed into law.
